A visit to Bourg en Bresse
The capital of the departement of Ain is a charming town that is home to some amazing hidden heritage treasures.
Brou Monastery is the highlight, but you shouldn't miss the old centre and its superb 14th- and 15th-century medieval houses. And you must of course stop off to taste the famous Bresse chicken, the only poultry in the world to have an "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée" (a great quality label) !
