Vienna during the Roman period

Vienna during the Roman period

Many, many centuries ago, Vienne was a wealthy city with a population of 30,000. Its strategic location on the banks of the river Rhône was obviously a contributing factor. The amazing collections and ruins found at the gallo-roman site and museum in Saint-Romain-en-Gal, situated immediately opposite the city, plunge us into the daily life of an ancient civilisation.
